The true use of school stationery is to write messages to your lab partner about how boring science class is. These are boyband-level lies—you love science, especially velocities of distance over time. Memories of thin chalk lines stretch off and become whiteboard markers bleeding into T-shirts. No. You decide for real: the actual use for multicolour-selector biros is to tell each other's future. Everyone picks their colour (just not lime green because that’s H’s colour) and the whisper-giggle-scribbles mark time and make time for each other. You try on trends and dream about all the when-we-will-be’s and build projections like javelins made of all the bits and stuff in that bowl by the landline. You gossip about each other's crushes like bubbles popping; you highlight who went off with who. You soak in each other’s opinions, wrapped up (too tight! too tight!) in endless wads of clingfilmed memory. You gasp for air – then towel off and twist each other’s hints and tips, like hair at sleepovers; these stick then slide in time.

Timing is right------------------Tablecloth, gel pen ink, thread, all purpose glue, metal-----------------The fabric piece is going through the wall, showing two different things on each side. The thread runs through the metal holder on the pillar and loops back into the fabric piece. Suspended on a height of 180cm above the ground, glue strings were reaching the floor at the window side while visitors could still pass underneath on the other parts. The string was pigmented in fragments with the ink from gel pens.
